Fine tuning crank case pressures a bit further, pressure equalization between cylinders can yield performance gains you might not expect. Take a look at the block casting of the newest generation Honda V6's, such as the 3.2L in the '04 TL. The addition of relief holes between cylinders was good for 6 HP.
