If I were to buy that engine, I would go to another source that builds that exact same engine except for the heads. You can buy them for about the same money, and some even have better parts than the factory crate motor. Not that's there's anything wrong with the ford heads, it's just that they were designed for the 302 and 351. I have read a lot of articles on that engine, and when the engine was on the dyno it always made 450hp or more, instead of the 430hp that ford advertised. But, if you put a set of AFR185 heads on it the hp jumped to 540!!
That's serious hp for a small block on pump gas. That's more power than most of the big blocks that are out there. I know it's not nice to say, but it's true.
