MICHAEL C HENRY Mike there is a trick to fixing this problem The racing solid lifter have a .0015 groove that provides oil to the roller to spin on the cam with lube. I have not seen the hydro lifter yet but I am sure that there is a luber hole for this. I agree with you on air filters. The other option is to make an air box to the hood and put a thin filter liner to keep the big pieces out. The down side is not to be in the rain. The 70 AAR Cuba my friend has doesn't like the rain at all due to the hood scoop. Roller lifter set up right will run 100 k with no problems, If the bearing comes apart you will need lifters and a cam. It is a trade off. The bearings should not get into the motor if the screens on the pickup tube are the correct size. My next motor is going dry sump. Have a nice day Mike, reset the house clocks. Rick Lake
