Just spoke with a Street Rodder in Geelong, Victoria to see if his club had received any written or verbal notification from the ASRF or State delegate.
The reply was interesting. Although hearsay this guy has his ear to the ground. He stated..
"Bernie, it appears that registration for Street Roads has taken a turn for the best. You know that we have been able to register rods with 'SR' plates for some time now..."
This was a simple test and drive done by TAC rep. Con Manzaris in Melbourne.
(They are Special Registration plates similiar to CH - Classic Historical plates that allow limited use on club and testing drives ).
He further said..
"From what I have heard a 1932 Coupe is going through this new registration process you mentioned at the moment. The guy is using a 'Rod City' reproduction 1932 Chassis with a 'Duece Custom' glass reproduction body. He has a 350 Chev with highrise manifold and Holley carby.."
I asked the question about the use of this engine and the carby etc..
The response was..
"Bernie, this is a new registration process. You can use what ever you want as long as you make an application with all the details of the car on the application."
"You then just build the fu#*^n thing to comply with your application."
OK
Well it sounds to simple to me but I was assured this was the process.
So good for the Street Rodders good for.....

Cobras
Cheers
