I had an oval filter, but it hit the hood. The best solution that I found were Edelbrock foam filters. They are only $20 each and they suck air right through the top which should work well with the hood scoop. To make them work I did have to relocate the carb hole (cut and weld) and shorten the front filter about a1/4". With my 2x4 intake the carbs are so close together that the filters hit each other.
