Man, here I am looking for the perfect expansion tank so I can strip and repaint, and I had one all along that would work fine and didn't cost me more than $20 total.

Stuff needed:

1. Sand paper (I used 150 grit I think)
2. Hand grinder
3. Little cheapo propane torch.
4. Solder & flux

What to do...

1. Clean/sand dent (basically get the copper shiny).
2. Tilt the tank so that solder will puddle in the dent
3. Apply torch heat to the dent and start adding the solder to it....Let it puddle in the dent and get a little more in there than you need.
4. Take the hand grinder and start going to it. Get it down to where you're closed to right.
5. Take the sand paper at it for a minute or two to make it perfect.

All done. Paint and go. So now if you see a crummy old dinged up expansion tank, it can be like new in no time flat and CHEAP!
