tinker - The surface will become VERY slippery after a couple of coats. It actually becomes difficult to control the towel because it keeps wanting to fall off the car. It becomes fun when a small bug lands on the fender and you give it a quick puff of lung-power. The little ba$tard will fly clear across the hood! (simple minds = simple thrills)
Steve - Water spots are MUCH less likely to occur IF you can get the water droplets off the car before they dry very much, if at all. I followed the recommendations of the Zaino website and used my Stihl BR400 backpack blower to dry the car. Man, what a difference! I will NEVER dry the car another way again. Awesome. Anyone wanna buy my used chamois, Absorber, and California Water Blade? I'll cut you a great deal...
Clay - My personal opinion is that you should save your kit for a darker car. But that's just my opinion.
The website's recommendations regarding the towels is
dead-on. I'm married to a textile R&D engineer and she can attest to what the Zaino site is saying. I traveled far and wide to find the correct Fieldcrest "true" 100% cotton towels. They're not cheap but I did buy the huge "bath sheet" size (ooh, how nice). I washed them as specified before use and immediately took the scissors to them after drying (again, per the website's recommendations). It makes a difference.
I washed the car in well-concentrated Dawn liquid to remove the previous wax coats. I did not clay-bar the car (it's as smooth as a baby's ass already). I used the Z6 between coats as specified.
I stress: Multiple coats. Multiple coats. Multiple coats.
