Primaries are not an idle issue. HC is unburned hydrocarbons which means way too much fuel at idle. If your only interested in "improvement", lean out the idle screws and raise the idle speed as high as is allowed in the test perimeter.You are probably fighting a lot of cam overlap at idle. Very inefficent (dirty)segment of the RPM range.
