I got a standard reproduction of the Ford linkage, with the slotted link for progressive action. After trying the progressive setup for awhile, I thought the transition from one carb to two...seemed to "come in" too suddenly, so I changed to a synchronized linkage (where both primaries open together) by replacing the rear slotted link to one of the front short links.
With my 390 CFM carbs the throttle response with progressive linkage was very crisp, and mileage was better, but my plugs indicated that some cylinders (front if I remember right) were running leaner than others. I may try the progressive and jetting up later this summer. If I really feel like a challenge, I've got a pair of 600 CFM carbs I've been wanting to dial in...
