Cameron,
No wires on that side of the tranny.
Scraped under the car and found a solenoid (I think) near to the neutral switch covered in
oil.
Cleaned up the connection and will see if that was the problem.
As it is intermittent, I think it is more of a connection problem rather than a vss replacement issue.
Time will tell
