I have a 460\535 crate engine and while cruising at 3000 rpm the engine seems to surge forward. I checked the timing and at 3500rpm the total advance is 35 deg.
At idle 950rpm the advance is 26deg. Is this a lot of initial advance and does the ford distributor that comes with the engine only give 10 deg of mechanical advance. I thought that maybe the idle was fast and some mechanical advance was being measured but it will not idle any slower. I would apreciate any coments or help. I am running a holley 750 DP.
