Default Sealing Windshield rubber to body

My windshield was prone to leak all along the bottom between the rubber gasket and the body. I used a 3M adhesive glass seal tape to "glue" the rubber to the body--this tape is used to seal glass panels in construction so the glass doesn't rattle against the frame, very strong, super thin tape, adheres to most any surface.
I cleaned the area under the gasket and the gasket with de-natured alcohol--I did pull the windshield first--applied the tape to the body, reinstalled the windshield, then "sealed" down the gasket to the body.

Only 2 small less than 1'' openings now at each windshield frame post where I didn't run the tape. Now I don't have water seeping in all along the windshield bottom like before.
