I have basically the same engine as you, but it fit great between my lonestar frame rails. My problem was with the shifter on my toploader. I had to notch out a 3" section of the corner of the seat pan. After that, I welded 1/4" steel to fill in the hole I had cut out. No problem. I also had to cut the side of the bellhousing by the starter.
