They usually have "front" stencilled on the outside of the cover. I saw a display once of the technalon cover. It had a small piece of the special fabric sealed into the middle of a clear plastic bottle. The upper half was full of water, the lower half had air only. When you squeezed a bulb attached to the lower half, air bubbles would pass through the fabric and float to the top. Your car should remain dry.
I usually paint a big arrow or something on the outside of mine because it's sometimes hard to find the "front". The inside usually has the rougher unfinished edge of the fabric showing, too.
