Tom,
There are a couple things to do to make the auto survive.
- install at least an 18,000 lb B&M trans cooler up front.
- a remote trans filter with temperature gauge is good, DO NOT run the trans over 200*.
- you need to cool down the trans, hood up between runs.
- when doing a burnout do not shut down 'in' gear, bump it into neutral,let the rpm's come down then put it back in gear.
- if doing a long burnout keep your foot in it until the tires naturally hook up or dump it into neutral.
- DO NOT do a 'dry hop'
Go to the Art Carr website, their tip page tell how to do a proper burnout to heat the tires.
It must work, I have 22,000 miles on my C-6 from GER; precision converter in PA.
