Default Same Problem, Different Solution

I experienced the same problem on my ERA FIA car. I tried a couple of different things, even had professional help.

The clear 3M Invinca shield type film just would not lay well on the compound curves, so scrapped that idea. Then went the route of having the rear fenders re-painted and having clear chip protector sprayed on... that lasted all of a week.

So my current (and hopefully final) solution was to mask off the area prone to chipping and coat it with black truck bed liner. Sounds a bit drastic, but everyone likes the way it looks. I think it would look even better on a black car. Let me know if you are interested and I will get some pictures to you. After 2 months of a lot of driving it is holding up very well.

Another option would be the soft spats that you put on while you drive and then take off to show the car.
