I wonder how much horsey power you could get from a 390? One of my buddies read in a magazine the other day about a 390 build-up....made 450hp I think...with Edelbrock heads out of the box and 9.5:1 compression.

That should be do-able with iron heads, shouldn't it....maybe with a little port massaging and the same size valves that Edelbrock uses? I don't even think they used a roller cam....just roller rockers.
