speaking from personal experience the mod you have in your tranny is woth keeping. the 76 cobra II that i run has the same mod. for some reason the T% tranny has a really bad habbit of grinding 3rd gear when you shift quickly. i put 380 lb/ft of torque through mine on a dailey basis and i n the past 4 years i havent had any problems with it.however before i had some teeth ground off 3rd i had to replace it 4 times becuase the grinding was causing the teeth to break off. so if the tranny is beefed up likey ou said i would stick with it, in fact if you have the money to replace the gear you should run it realy hard as is for 2 weeks replace the gear and run it really hard for 2 weeks then tell me which gear you prefer. even though i know you will be putting the ground gear back in the tranny.
