Jack,
When walking in the Kirkham's shop it sounds like you are walking on....... well, plastic tiles that are sitting on the floor. They are not silent like a traditional tile floor. I would suggest Finding someone with a racedeck floor to see (hear) for yourself if you think it might bother you.
