Default Thank y'all sooo much!!

Well, it's 7:20 Sunday night. I've just finished counting the $ from the car show. What a fun job! We raised just over $2000 for the agency.

We ended up with 87 cars, and oodles of spectators. Plus a good showing from our local TCC. John Ross, Randy Riley, The Smith's, Kristen, Thomas, The Morrises (thank you for the posters!) and Cory Hess. Plus another silver car I didn't recognize. And Boudy came with his mini-NASCAR track.

I was pleasantly surprised to have 50 cars ready for registration by 12:45. We did have a few issues that will be resolved by next year's show. Live and learn (and get John Ross' help!).

I was pleased to see such a variety of cars. And some bicycles too with the lowrider group. Does anyone know what that was about? Way nicer rides than I had at 12.

Alan did make it but only toward the end (after dropping off speakers at the beginning).

I'm just so excited that we were able to raise so much money doing something that combines my love of showing off our cars with my passion for fighting domestic violence.

To give you an idea of what that $ will do:
$36 Buys an infant's diapers for 2 weeks
$78 Supplies milk for all at the shelter for two weeks
$60 Provides a bus pass for a mom for a month while she's job hunting
$200 Pays for agency crisis lines, available 24 hours a day, for three weeks
$350 Underwrites medical supplies and prescriptions for the shelter for a month
$1000 "Sponsors" two children for two weeks at the shelter, covers their emergency care, food, and counseling

So this $2000 goes a long way.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Y'all are awesome and I am so proud to be a part of your club.
