The spring side or raised side of the disk goes toward the pressure plate. Do (if not already done): replace the pilot bushing (a nice roller perhaps?), torque the bolts to the proper amount using locktite on VERY clean bolts, go easy on it for 500 miles and threads, use a alignment tool and align the bellhousing.
