NAPA doesn't carry new ones, only remanufactured. It's starting to look like there are no sources at all for new CV joints of that vintage.
The next question is: Is a late model Mustang Cobra a possibility? If they have the type of CV joint that bolts to the axle by way of a flange, maybe I could machine shorter axles with flanges and bolt the CV joints on? One of the sloppy points of my current axles is the spline fit between the axle and the CV joint, replacing that spline with a bolted flange is appealing. Does that sound like a good idea?
UPDATE, I think those flanges just hold the boot on. I'm still confused
