oil!!!!
Paid for spacer and one day UPS delivery to find out that the cover plate that was included with the bell housing assembly WILL NOT work with the new spacer! Called Red and found out that my cover plate or "cap" is not drilled to accomodate all applications. I'm told that all of the "in stock" caps are being drilled and c'bored. Unfortunately for me, the "Dash 2" caps are the last ones to being done. I've got a car up on the hoist in a stall at the Hot Rod shop without parts that will work! Did I mention that I paid special charges to get them here in short order only to find that they won't work! There are no common holes, either clearance, tapped or counter bored, between the cap and bell housing.

When my mechanic called to tell me that the new spacer won't work, I just about had a stroke!!! Did I mention that I paid for UPS one day delivery?
I've decided to have the Hot Rod shop dowel the new spacer to the cap, transfer the holes and drill them thru the cap. Turn the cap over and c'bore on the tranny side. I willl then be able to bolt the cap to the bell housing thru the spacer with only perhaps longer FHCS required. I should get my car back by 10/21 or 10/22/04 and with any luck at all (yeah right) should be able to drive a little bit yet this Fall.
