Default Boot Gas struts

G'day All,

Not too many detailed thread about gas struts for boots (or for bonnets).

I've finished mounting my healy external hinges on the boot and I'm now looking at gas struts to hold the boot when opened. Has anyone done this?

My questions are?
1 One or two struts
2 Length and strength of strut
3 Mounting points.

I've called a gas strut supplier in melb who recommended 50cm extended strut (30cm compressed I think) and the lightest pressure was rated for 10kg or 100n. This still seams too strong to me.

I'm thinking of making a bracket that attaches to the rear of the wheel arch and just protrudes across the boot at the top corner (if that all makes sense) This I hope will avoid any stress problems that may arise if it was attached to the body surface.

Thanks in advance
