demon powervalve blowout protection channel and checkball
hey all,
im going thru my mighty demon. while i had it apart i was examining the power valve blowout protector and how it differs
from a holley. on the demon throttle base plate, it appears to have one hole/channel that the check ball rides in. then right next to that channel is another hole/channel, that appears to intersect the channel with the ball in it.
i assume this is the way demon is doing it, where holley uses one channel with a spring and ball.
on the demon the ball just sits in the bottom of its channel, with the other intersecting channel being the passage to supply vacuum to the powervalve, as best as i can tell ?????
on the holley, the spring keeps the ball seated in the top of the channel, and vacuum then unseats the ball, creating a path to the powervalve.
i only question this, because i have been trying to isolate what i beleive is a fuel leak allowing fuel to collect in the direct vacuum
port on the side of the carb, and some minor puddling in the floor of the intake.
can anyone tell me if the demon setup is the way they do it, and if there needs to be a spring under the ball.
thanks, jerome
