Bathrone - I didn't respond to your interesting point about the injectors. Does the Autronic "injector control" vary the peak current depending on engine load? The Motec can individually trim cylinders, control pulse widths, compensate for various engine temps, fuel temps and pressures, air temp, battery voltage etc. My 96 lb/hr injectors aren't as big as those big mother 160 pounders in the rotary, but my car idles like a stocker with the 96s and a "large" camshaft. The Motec can be configured to operate rotaries or piston motors with nothing more than a drop-down box, but I won't give you grief over it

I know that Autronic and Motec are very similar in many ways, quite different in others, but at the end of the day they are the only two engine management systems that I'd ever use. Do you have the serial number of the unit so that Autronic tech can ID it?
Peter - the Motec's staying, I'm just planning on getting some parts together for the next project... Interesting storage option - probably better than those chrome boot racks that the MG guys seem to use so often !
Mike - I often don't like when topics stray, and my Autronic questions don't have a whole lot to do with your fuel rail mod, but at least it keeps the thread up at the top of the page to give everyone a chance to see your handiwork !
