Not to start an arguement, but not clear coating 'gel-coat' is hogwash. I've been doing it for nye on to 25 plus years now. YES, it takes exacting measures, but it does NOT need to be primed etc.

I've done it on 22' boats before with the same beautifull results.

I have seen many A&C cars clearcoated which I have done numerous times in the past. Me or anyone that really knows what they are doing will get you the finish that you are looking for. The end results, when done right are simply marvelous!

The cracks you speak of...when you made the cut out for the side pipes did you cut 90' angles or did you make each corner rounded? Fiberglass does NOT like 90' cuts! That will certainly have to be fixed.
