thankfully, haven't heard this story, but people do the stupidest things with or without large sums of money. To be honest, that is something my deranged mother would do, and i hope I don't get a phone call from some distant relative telling me she's the one that did it! My understanding is that any penny she has left when she finally expires would be left to a cat facility. No joke.
