Fwiw Mike I've had good luck polishing aluminum using Mother's products this on wheels and other misc. pieces, including weathered parts on boats. Also a product I bought called White Lightning metal polish seems to work very well though I haven't used it on wheels yet but have used it on some parts on my FIA such as the gas cap filler that was looking rather bad and it has polished it up fairly well with little effort.
