6 degrees is quite unusual. Are you sure?

I went through the same issue during my build since my upper support plate angle was incorrect and the holes in the frame cross member wouldn't line up. It all comes down to pinnion angle. The engine and transmission will set in almost horizontal, i.e. 0 degrees. The zero degree brackets will align the pinnion perfectly. A six degree set will cause severe u-joint problems if your engine is horizontal.

I cut off the upper support plate and fabricated a new one using the differntial mounted to the cross member as a guide.
