289's, and then 302's up to about the '85 model year used 28 in/oz external balance on the rotating assembly. Then, Ford, in its infinite wisdom, changed the the external balance to 50 in/oz. But only on the 302/5.0 motors.

351W's have always used the 28 in/oz external balance throughout its production life.

Flywheels (157 tooth) and bellhousings are interchangable between 302/5.0, and 351W's. Later motors, and FMS flywheels use 10 1/2" clutch.

Not absolutely certain on this, but the 164 tooth flywheel (actually the flexplate) were used on full size cars and trucks depending on the trans used.

Used the 28 in/oz FMS billet flywheel, FMS billet SFI front balancer, Centerforce street performance clutch.

Everything works fine, and pedal effort is normal.
