I received a call today from a General Authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He told me he was holding a check from Barrett Jackson made out to the Church for $50,000.
He expressed his deep appreciation to all of those who helped to make this donation a reality. He specifically asked for all of the names of those who helped so we will be forwarding them to him. (Don't be shy and please send me an email to make sure we don't forget ANYONE!)
I am glad the money arrived and I am truly grateful to all who helped with donations on the car.
The new owner had a deposit with us for a car and was suprised when we offered to give him his deposit back. He then insisted he donate 1/2 of his deposit to the Church's Humanitarian Relief Fund along with the car.
In addition, Rich Lacy of Rich's Classic transport donated $600 (the entire transport fee for moving the car from Barrett Jackson to the new owner's house) to the Church.
This is a great site and I am always amazed by the good people who frequent this site and are willing to help.
