That might just be a loop hole worth exploring. If you registered the car as an AC Ace which first came out in 1954 would you be able to get it through the same as the hot rod guys do with fiberglass 32 Fords?

No problems with emissions then, the car just has to run on unleaded.

Worth asking an engineer about I reckon.
