I love the engineering shops over there and they are all usually in one district in the citys. You can spend a day or more wandering up and down the countless shops looking at all the goodies. Heaps of machines for every job and the quality is getting pretty good now.
There were some nice looking tube benders that produced some excellent results in thin wall tubing. A neat design that could turn a 6" diameter coil of 1/2" SS tube of about 4 or 5 turns.
I nearly bought a new TIG welder but I had a bit much bagage and equipment with me and didn't want to pay the excess baggage. I found a nice AC/DC unit that produced nice results on Aluminium but it was about 25-30KG. Maybe next time I'll pack extra light when I go over.
I found the site for the company that made the plasma cutter. It looks like it'll actually cut 16mm steel plate which is a nice surprise as I was trying to read the Chinese brochure and thought it was only 8mm.
