My engine builder, who will remain unknown, recommends (based on information from the local builder who has finished a few Kirkhams) that I not ceramic coat the headers and sidepipes until after the engine is installed and the headers and sidepipes have been fit. The reason suposedly is that the builder has had to reloacte the tabs on the Kirkham headers to make them fit correctly. What experience have others had? Should I coat now or wait until the engine is installed?
