I put an MSD billet (not sure if it was called Pro Billet or not) distributor with vacum advance in my car 3 or 4 years ago,already had the MSD 6A box,I had been running a factory Ford electronic distributor for 5 or 6 years before.......... The factory one finally broke apart internally about 100 yards from my driveway one day coming home,could not find one at any parts place in town so I got mad an ordered an MSD unit...........best thing I ever did..........hold the Ford unit in your hand and turn it by hand,you'll see a ton of slack in it everywhere,just the opposite with the MSD unit,shortly afterwards took a 700+ mile round trip and my car got 2 miles to the gallon better than I had been getting,only change was the distributor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MSD tech recommended using the mechanical model only for dedicated race cars and the vacum model for street and occasion race...................
