You may end up with a Cup transmission they use on the road coarses. The oil cooler may not be a bad idea either. If you do what Jerico suggests with the oil type and brand it may last longer than you think.

I have one of those high horsepower small blocks myself, ours dynoed at 700hp at 7400rpm with one 950cfm carb. We are sorting out the some bugs in the brake system right now. Then we can start adding nitrous. We need about 1000 horsepower to be competitive. I can't wait to run a Jerico 5 speed in it.
