Thank you Weber faithfuls
I want to thank all that have posted over the last few years on their experience with Webers, especially Cal Metal/Ford of France for their dogged support of these carbs. I run a 289 Hipo in a Mustang with 48IDAs. I read all the threads I could and saw a general consensus (actually have a hand spreadsheet) on idle jets, mains, venturis, accelerator pump exhaust bleeds, etc. I inherited the car set up for the track and had a huge bog situation at the famous 2,000-2,500 RPM or so range. It also ran pig rich throughout the range. Anyway, the numbers posted here on the forum work. It is a LARGE investment if you are far off to buy EIGHT or FOUR of everything you need, especially the venturis/chokes. I am now running 210 air correctors, 60 Idle, F7 emulsion. Went down on my main jet sizes, 50 pump bypass. Went from 42mm choke/venturis to 38s...could probably use the stock 37s.
Anyway, just saying thank you. I gutted my carbs totally without removal of throttle plates and re-assembled. If I can do it, so can you. Keep the faith.
Yours in Webers,
