I'm kind of in the same boat as you so I've been asking a few painters around here what they use. I seem to get the same answer from most of them- it's hard to get a bad paint these days, but you have to work with each of them for awhile until you understand how they go on best.
Around here, PPG is a big seller, but probably because they have a big presence around here. Dupont is also heavily used here in certain shops. Makes me wonder if it is a regional thing, as the DELTRON grumpy mentions is rare around here?
If you are interested in using HOK paints, talk to Arizona Slim from this forum. He gave me a quick tutorial on using the HOK paints over the phone one day and I actually understood it! He seems to have most of the kinks worked out and some of the pics he's posted show his work. Black has to be the hardest paint to get right, and his Black Mark I FFR is absolutely gorgeous!-
