I have had a Sears brand for many years. I primarily used it on my boat to keep my deep cycle gel-cel batteries up for the bilge pumps. Those are pretty nasty conditions for any electronics and it lasted well.

After selling the boat, I kept the tender and use it in the spring to top off my Optima in the Cobra. It does a tiny trickle charge and has LEDs that go from red (charging) to green (ok to go). It plugs into an electrical connector that I have wired to the optima.

I think I paid perhaps 35 bucks for it back in 1989. It is still going strong. Sears probably still sells it today, in fact it is called the:

DieHard 1.5 amp Automatic Battery Charger
Sears item #02871220000 Mfr. model #71220

And appears to sell for about $29 or so.
