Any type of male/female connectors could be used but in the honored British tradition as mentioned above Bullet connectors are the norm. The actual original type can be had from Moss Motors (they are a little pricey!). However a good substitute of a similar type is available in bulk packs from automotive electrical suppliers. I found the ones I used on a pegboard display in the local speed shop. They were available for different gauge wires. Just a tip, if you want a trouble free long lasting electrical system that looks neat and tidy, crimp and solder the connections and use heat shrink tubing, you'll never look back.
