CB,

Mr. Fixit gets credit for convincing me not go overboard on my cam, I ended up with Comp Cams .533 lift and 224 Dur @50. I don't think you can make an informed carb decision without considering vacuum signal. The step down boosters, four corner idle jets, and screw-in bleeds on the Prio Series are specifically designed for a weak signal. Beyond that, I have come to believe that tuning is a huge factor in the personality of a carb. Frankly, I'm a little suspect of carb A vs. carb B comparisons on this board. After many tuning changes my 750CFM Pro series runs great - street or road race - but I know that it can be better, so I will continue to tweak it. My advice is to buy something that has as much flexibility as possible, to compensate for various conditions, buy a tuning manual from Barnes and Noble, and enjoy the experience of learning how "old school" technology really works.

If all else fails (or maybe as a first step), call the Holley tech line, they're very helpful.
