There are two different common yoke sizes for the Ford, the 1310 which is 3 1/4" wide and accepts U-joint caps with a 1 1/16" outer diameter and the 1330 which measures 3 5/8" wide and a cap diameter of 1 1/8 inch. Both slip yokes are commonly available and are usually interchangeable in the transmission since they usually have the same spline count and outer shaft diameter. There is also a 1350 yoke which is almost never found in production car driveshafts. The 1350 series has a cap diameter of 1 3/16 inch and the body and journals are bigger than the 1310 or 1330. There is an adapter U-joint available at most parts stores that is size 1310 on one side and 1330 on the other side. I have to use the conversion U-joint on my Cobra because the driveshaft yokes are 1310 and the pinion yoke on the rear end is 1330. Everything worked out well. SO, in summary, you have two possible solutions. You can either obtain an adapter U-joint or find a 28 spline 1310 slip yoke. Either solution should work out just fine.
