Default brake light question/help

I was driving my car a couple of weeks ago when the brake light went on. Turns out I had no brake fluid in the rear reservoir. I've added fluid and bled the rear brakes, but the light is still on.

Looking at manuals about how the proportioning valve works, it appears as though it hasn't reset to its balance position. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

Thanks,

JLW

PS - the car is a factory-built Classic Roadsters with what looks like standard Ford master cylinder and proportioning valve.
