One question: are the small blocks 289s or larger. It is possible to build a 460 cid small block. It is also possible to build a 375 cid with an 8.2" deck height.

And if you are willing to spend money on the engine (Ti or piston guided rods, lightweight crank, lightweight pistons, solid roller/shaft rockers, timing belt, etc.) these can rev to over 8000rpm.

I understand that someone is building a car (different brand I believe) with a 700hp Roush 427 small block.
