Ummm, not correct. Pressure drop is determined by the sum of all the restrictions. A single 3/8 orifice may be equivalent to 3 feet of 1/2" tube but it is not
the limiting factor to flow.
I also suspect that their fuel consumption estimate is not very accurate.
