Default Hood latch tabs info needed
Can anyone provide me with info about the hood latch tabs on a 427 cobra. These are the little tabs mounted on the hood opening flange above the firewall that the hood latchs engage to hold the hood closed. They appear to be a piece of metal folded in a ">" shape(to give it some spring??). I've seen them in many engine compartment pics of original cars, but was wondering if someone could give me some detail so I could duplicate them on my car:
Metal type (spring steel, alum?)
Dimensions?
Method of fastening to hood opening flange?
Any help would be appreciated.
