I think that the new roller bearing is cooler and more high tech, but others say to stick with the bronze bushing because as it fails, it will just wear and not fail catestrophicaly. When you put everything together last time, did you put a littl grease on the bushing? This cold be it.

There are pilot bearing pullers on the market to get them out. I have also heard that if you fill the bearing hole with grease and get a wooden dowel the same size as it ID of the hole, you can hit the dowel with a hammer, and the hydrolic pressure will push the bearing right out.
