Here's a cutout cutout view from my wiring diagram. Notice how the flasher isolator works for the blinkers and the brake light switch. If they are both failing you probably have one of three problems:

1. isolater relay gone bad
2. light socket problem. (make sure the lights are in there correctly and have good connectivity)
3. bad/loose wire somewhere
