Default Shrouding Air filter etc

Curious to know if any of you chaps have shrouded the front or more of your air filters, so the air travels around the filter instead of straight in?

Thinking of while I adapt my tall hood scoop to allow a good sized air filter, one downside on wet days water appears as it will go on to the MSD distributor, so the idea is to build a platform over the distributor and to allow the fitment of an alloy shroud about an 1" off the filter, going up to the hood, or fiberglass setup to redirect the air right away from the filter, more around the sides, as I am not convinced the carb needs air from the scoop, any ideas!
